Goalseek
Each row shows the change in that single lever alone — holding the others constant — needed to reach the goal margin. Cost of sales is treated as variable (scales with volume); operating and other expenses as fixed. Levers are grouped by sensitivity (how small a change achieves the goal).

Forecast
Project the next months from trading history, then move the levers to test what would happen.
Projections extend trading history using the levers above. They are an arithmetic projection of the assumptions you set, not a prediction — a forecast is only as good as the drivers behind it.
Published reports
Reports your team has published. Each one re-renders from current figures when opened, so a correction in QuickBooks flows through without republishing.

Accounts on this Clerkby instance
There is no self-service sign-up — every account is created here. Change someone's role from the dropdown in their row. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and can never be read back: reset to issue a new temporary one.
Switching a KPI off hides it from the KPIs page, the KPI Explorer and published reports, and stops it raising alerts. Importance orders the KPIs page and marks which figures a report leads with. Both apply to everyone using this workspace.
Every year-to-date figure and every quarter in Clerkby is measured from this month.
The code shown beside every figure. Taken from QuickBooks; Clerkby does not convert between currencies.
The default basis for reports. Switch between accrual and cash at the top of any page.

Your Intuit app
Where these come from
- Create an app at developer.intuit.com (free) if you have not already.
- Open Keys & credentials. Use the Production tab to reach real books — Development keys only ever reach Intuit sandbox test companies.
- Add this exact redirect URI to your Intuit app, with no trailing slash:
— - Paste the Client ID and Client Secret below.
Next: connect a company
Saving credentials only tells Clerkby which Intuit app to use. It does not read anyone's books yet. To pull real figures, connect a QuickBooks company — Intuit will ask you to sign in and choose which company to grant access to.
Connect a QuickBooks Online company
Clerkby reads your financial reports directly from QuickBooks Online. You sign in on Intuit's own page and approve access — Clerkby never sees your QuickBooks password. Each company you approve is added to the Company switcher, keeps its own connection, and re-syncs on its own from then on.
- Click Connect to QuickBooks below.
- Sign in to Intuit and pick the company you want to report on.
- Approve read access. You land back here with the last two years of figures already imported.
